GIVE = Generosity
In Various Expressions
Every one of us grows in life proportionately to how much we
give. Giving is just not about gifts and presents, it is about giving your
best in all situations and relationships.
The law of cause and effect states that what you put out is what you will
get back. If you give great service and value to others you will receive
greatly.
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.”
~ Jim
Elliot ~
One of the greatest reasons to give is simply because it
feels good. If one does not experience the joy of giving, it is because they
have a hidden agenda of getting something back. True giving comes from the
heart and is not about feeling obligated to give. Giving means to help and
serve others. When this is done, you will receive help and service in
unexpected ways.
During the Christmas Season, giving is celebrated and appreciated. Just
think how good it feels to be given a gift. Every gift can make a difference
in someone’s life. While writing this article, I was feeling sick and
Kristen (my Director of Sales and Marketing) came in and unexpectedly
brought me lunch. This was a very thoughtful and simple gesture that made me
feel good.
The following six ideas are ways you can give during the holidays as well as
year round:
1.
Money
– Donate money to a
charity, organization, or church.
2.
Time
– Spend time with your
friends and family, or volunteer with charitable organizations (i.e. Big
Brothers/Sisters, nursing homes, hospitals, etc.).
3.
Kindness
– Simply SMILE (Simple
Movement Incorporating Lifting Everyone) and say hello to your neighbours
and strangers. The way you feel is contagious. Call a friend who you haven’t
talked to in over a year and say hello.
4.
Talents and Skills
– Identify what your talent is and then figure out how your talent can help
others. Use your skills and talents to make someone’s life a little better
(i.e. depending on your talent, you could sing to patients at the hospital,
write a letter that inspires others, etc.).
5.
Notes of Acknowledgement – Give your loved ones notes of appreciation, telling them what you love
about them. This can also be expanded into a letter.
6.
Caring Attention to
Yourself
– Give yourself a treat by pampering yourself, going to the gym, or seeing a
movie. Whatever your fancy – give to yourself. Many people give to others,
but forget about themselves. Treat yourself and give gifts you deserve.
“One cannot sincerely help another without helping yourself.”

My wish for you is to put out and to receive Generosity In
