You are in a night club. 15 people are sitting on
chairs on a stage. A man is on stage and is commanding the attention of the
audience. He turns to the people on stage and shouts “SLEEP!” Everyone on
stage slumps in their seat as if they were rag dolls. The man is a
hypnotist! He then shouts: “WAKE UP!” and everyone awakens from their
trance-like state with a look of bewilderment on their face. They begin
dancing outrageously. Then one person believes he is freezing in the
Arctic, and another acts as if she is Madonna. The crowd goes wild.
Exciting isn’t it? It was for me. This was my
first experience with hypnosis in 1993. After seeing this show, I was
hooked. I studied every book and video on hypnosis that I could find. At
the time, I was a junior high school teacher and in a short period of time
I, too, became a stage hypnotist. I started by performing in nightclubs,
bars and community halls. People seemed to love the show, so I took a huge
risk and decided to perform full time.
Since making that decision, my show has taken me
across Canada and the United States, with stops in Hawaii, Bermuda and
Mexico. My business quickly took off, and I was soon performing over 300
shows per year.
Hypnosis is
essentially being in a very responsive state of mind free of inhibitions and
accepting of suggestions. All hypnosis is
actually self-hypnosis. Simply, people give themselves permission to
perform on stage without fear. They push back the curtain of their critical
mind, and the playing field of their imagination is open to be excited.
Imagine what you could do if you let go of your fears.
Those hypnotized are not actually asleep; they are
just in a deeper state of relaxation and heightened focus. They are
fully aware of everything they are doing, but they just don’t care. Think
back on the moments in your life where you were totally focused and in the
zone. You had a sense of complete knowing and control, and nothing could
stop you from experiencing your true inner thoughts and feelings. This is
how those on stage feel during a hypnosis show. I end my show by helping
the participants to program their thoughts to create this sensation and
state of mind anytime they want it.
Since my
suggestions are interpreted differently by each individual on stage, the
shows are predictably unpredictable. The show is structured, but depending
on who is on stage, each show takes on a life of its own.
During my teenage years, I was a
former five-time Canadian amateur
wrestling champion. After studying hypnosis, I realized the similarities
between hypnosis and what I had been doing in my competitive wrestling. The
main parallel was the power of visualization and my ability to program the
mind for success. This realization inspired me to find a new way to educate
people using hypnosis, laughter, and the power of the mind.
Throughout the process of performing over 2,500
shows and hypnotizing over 25,000 people, my shows have evolved to
help my audience connect to their inner MAGIC. Inner MAGIC is
someone’s pure and authentic Motivation, Awareness, Goals,
Imagination and Choices that are not distorted by their
self-imposed barriers.
I have come to
realize that there is one thing that prevents people from getting what they
want in life... fear. By using hypnosis, one can remove their own
self limiting beliefs and fears, connect with their inner MAGIC, and produce
unlimited health, wealth and happiness.
Take a moment to imagine your dream. Picture
yourself achieving that dream. How does it feel? In my shows and
presentations, I help those on stage and in the audience feel as
though they have already achieved their life’s dream. This is a
truly memorable and touching part of the show. Since they are doing this
through hypnosis, their feeling of achieving this dream is honest and real.
Whenever they want to re-live or repeat this moment, they just need to think
of their favorite color and touch their hand to their heart. Within a
moment, they undergo a noticeable physical and emotional uplifting
experience. This leaves those at the show
empowered by the realization of their full potential.
I have found
that hypnosis can be both entertaining and empowering. This has been
my secret formula for keeping the audience coming back for more.
Essentially, I leave the audience with a positive message so they can
transform their life. Although it appears as
though I am putting people to sleep, what I am really doing is allowing
people to wake up and connect with their inner magic.
