Working
for Corporations

Many entertainers enjoy
performing for the corporate market. There is some stand out reasons for
this preference. Corporations are usually hiring you for a special event so
it may be exciting to perform for professional people who want to see your
show. I think the main reason magicians and hypnotists like the corporate
market is that you can make a lot of money.
After performing nightclub
shows I would get booked for the occasional corporate show, by some person
seeing the show at the nightclub. Within these corporate shows, many
spouses of the company employees wanted a show for their company. This
created a domino effect leading to more corporate shows.
Following are some key
points that can increase the amount of corporate bookings you get:

Always get business cards of people who you talk to
at the event.
·
Ask and get a testimonial from the person who hired
you to use in your promotional materials.
·
Ask for references of other companies that can use
your entertainment services. (This can get you known as “the entertainer” to
get for a certain industry or profession).
·
Focus on associations that encompass many
companies. For example, I performed for the Motor Dealers’ Association of
Alberta. This one show resulted in six other car dealerships hiring me for
their Christmas parties.

Many corporate functions revolve around Christmas
staff parties, various social events, and association meetings. Decide on
which industry, profession, and companies you want to target.
